Hop Lun, a prominent Platinum Equity portfolio company recognized as one of the world’s largest designers and manufacturers of intimate apparel, has announced its acquisition of P.H. Garment, further solidifying its position in the global fashion industry. The acquisition integrates P.H. Garment’s innovative private label manufacturing of high-quality bras, shapewear, and performance-driven active wear into Hop Lun’s extensive portfolio.

Strategic Expansion in Intimate Apparel Manufacturing

This acquisition not only enhances Hop Lun’s production capabilities but also broadens its service offerings to include advanced manufacturing techniques crucial for modern apparel design.

Eddie Wong, Founder and Executive Director of P.H. Garment, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the benefits of joining forces with a larger conglomerate: “The P.H. Enhancing Global Operations

Hop Lun, which employs over 26,000 people and has manufacturing operations spread across Bangladesh, China, and Indonesia, produces for many of the world’s largest global retailers as well as for its own in-house brands. With the acquisition of P.H. Garment, Hop Lun further expands its workforce and operational capabilities, reinforcing its status as a leader in the intimate apparel sector.

This acquisition marks the second add-on purchase by Hop Lun in the last six months, following the acquisition of Rainbow West Apparel in December 2023. “We are continuing to seek opportunities for Hop Lun to expand and diversify its capabilities, increase scale and add more value for its customers,” said Platinum Equity Co-President Jacob Kotzubei and Managing Director Matthew Louie in a joint statement.

Garment by Hop Lun represents a significant move in the intimate apparel industry, indicating a trend towards consolidation and technological advancement in manufacturing processes. By incorporating P.H. Garment’s specialized skills and expanding its own capabilities, Hop Lun is well-positioned to meet the evolving demands of the global fashion market, enhancing both its competitive edge and its ability to serve a broader customer base.
