Hitachi Energy, Ayana Renewable Power collaborate for a 300MW solar project in Rajasthan

Hitachi Energy India has clinched a deal with Ayana Renewable Power, one of India’s leading Independent Power Producers, for a grid connection solution at their upcoming 300-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic power plant in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The contract price, although undisclosed, places the project among significant investments in India’s renewable energy sector. Scheduled for commissioning in March 2024, the project involves a comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction management package.

India’s Renewable Energy Landscape

India has set ambitious targets to source 50% of its electricity from non-fossil fuels by 2030, aligning with its goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2070. As of July 2023, India has a combined installed capacity of 179 GW from renewable energy sources. According to a report by CEEW-CEF, renewable energy contributed to 92% of the 17 GW of newly installed power generation capacity in FY23, with solar energy making up 84% of that figure.
