Hero MotoCorp said that it has started the financial year (FY) 2021-22 with sales of more than a million units during the first quarter from April to June.
The Indian automobile manufacturer said that the quarter saw considerable disruptions caused by the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, which curbed the movement of logistics, while dampening the sentiments of customers.
Hero MotoCorp said that it had sold 10,24,507 units of motorcycles and scooters in the first quarter of FY2021-22.
The automobile manufacturer said that with the Covid-19 related restrictions and lockdowns easing gradually across major markets in India, it had a strong rebound in June with the sale of 469,160 motorcycles and scooters. In May 2021, Hero MotoCorp had sold nearly two lakh units.
Hero MotoCorp stated: “Heading into the upcoming festive season, the company remains cautiously optimistic about the customer demand in the coming months. The expected surge in personal mobility, forecast of a normal monsoon in several parts of the country and the improving rural sentiment are expected to lead to a swift revival in sales.”
Recently, Hero MotoCorp said that it will increase the ex-showroom prices of its motorcycles and scooters, with effect from July.
