Hero MotoCorp sells over 4.5 lakh motorcycles and scooters in March 2022

Hero MotoCorp said that it had sold 4,50,154 units of motorcycles and scooters in March 2022, compared to 358,254 units in February 2022 and 5,76,957 units in March 2021.

The Indian motorcycles and scooters manufacturer said that the sequential growth in the volume sales compared to February 2022 indicates a gradual recovery in the economy.

Hero MotoCorp’s sale of scooters in March 2022 was 24,433 units, while it sold 4,25,721 motorcycles during the month.

Its domestic sales in March 2022 were 4,15,764 units, while 34,390 units were exported outside India.

Hero MotoCorp stated: “With pandemic restrictions witnessing a gradual withdrawal due to a steady decline in Covid-19 cases and reopening of all the sectors of economy, we expect sales momentum to build up in new the fiscal FY’2022-23.”

In the fiscal year from April 2021 to March 2022, the company sold 49,44,150 units of two-wheelers.

In line with its aggressive growth strategy in the scooter category, Hero MotoCorp introduced the new Destini 125 ‘XTEC’.

Last month, Hero MotoCorp announced that it will raise the ex-showroom prices of its motorcycles and scooters in order to partially offset the impact of increasing commodity prices.
