Hero MotoCorp ropes in Accenture to drive transformation of supply chain

Hero MotoCorp, an Indian motorcycles and scooters manufacturer, has roped in to help in the transformation of its supply chain transformation.

Accenture will be responsible for scaling up and boosting Hero MotoCorp’s future-ready supply chain.

According to Accenture, the transformation program will include planning optimization, supply chain strategy, optimization of logistics costs, and development of an end-to-end digital supply chain suite. These are expected to enable the Indian automobile company to handle the increasing complexity in markets, products, and supply chain networks, while bringing in cost reduction in an environment that has been inflationary.

Ram Kuppuswamy — Hero MotoCorp chief procurement and supply chain officer said: “As we expand our global footprint and foray into electric vehicles, navigating the complex global supply chain network will be crucial in driving our future growth. Simplifying our operations and improving profitability will be key to creating the capacity we need to expand our products portfolio and enter new markets.”

Accenture said that it will utilize its zero-based supply chain (ZBSC) approach for facilitating the cost optimization efforts of Hero MotoCorp throughout its supply chain. The professional services company will also be deploying a data and analytics-powered supply chain control tower for enabling improved supply chain and logistics planning.

With the help of artificial intelligence and capabilities, the digital supply chain platform will give deeper visibility to the business decision makers of Hero MotoCorp across the operations of the company.

Besides, Accenture will help the Indian automobile manufacturer in training its workforce and develop the appropriate capabilities across supply chain planning and logistics functions and in data and analytics as well.
