Hero MotoCorp appoints Arun Jaura as the chief technology officer

Hero MotoCorp said that it has appointed Dr. Arun Jaura as the chief technology officer (CTO) for steering the company’s research and development (R&D) ecosystem.

Arun Jaura will report to Dr. Pawan Munjal, who is the Chairman and CEO of the Indian automobile manufacturer.

According to Hero MotoCorp, Vikram Kasbekar, who has been heading the R&D unit over the last two and half years will support Arun Jaura for a smooth transition. In the coming months, Vikram Kasbekar will continue to work on certain important assignments.

Prior to joining Hero MotoCorp, the company’s new CTO served as the managing director of Michelin India Technology Center since 2017, where he handled the R&D and sustainability functions.

Arun Jaura began his career with the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) in 1982 where he worked over 10 years developing servo and electrohydraulic weapon systems and hydro-pneumatic suspension systems for battle tanks apart from working on subsystems of the combat aircraft.

Meanwhile, Hero MotoCorp disclosed that Neerja Sharma will cease to be the Company Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer of the firm with effect from 31 January 2022.
