Heranba Industries gets environmental approval for Sarigam plant expansion

Heranba Industries has secured environmental clearance from the Indian Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change for expanding its Sarigam plant in Gujarat.

The environmental clearance allows the Indian agrochemical company to manufacture pesticide intermediates, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides at its plant located at Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation’s Sarigam in Umbergaon, Valsad district.

Heranba Industries has an existing land parcel of 55,000m2 at Sarigam and no additional land will be needed for the proposed expansion.

The Indian agrochemical company has developed a greenbelt in an area of 5,500m2. It will develop a greenbelt in a 12,650m2 area, which will cover 33% of the project area.

According to Heranba Industries, the expansion plan will involve establishing an additional manufacturing capacity of 24,900 TPA for the manufacturing of insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, and pesticide intermediates.

The projected cost for the expansion is INR 110 crores, which includes an existing investment of INR  20 crores. The project will generate an employment scope for 170 direct jobs and 100 indirect jobs.

R K Shetty – Managing Director of Heranba Industries said: “We are pleased to announce that we have received the EC approval for expanding our Sarigam Plant. This is a crucial development towards our aim of expanding our multipurpose manufacturing capacity and enables us to achieve our growth objectives while continuing to build on our solid foundation.

“We intend to manufacture a variety of insecticides, pesticides, and herbicides at the site in the future.”
