HawkEye 360 inaugurates new satellite manufacturing facility in Herndon, VA

HawkEye 360 Inc., a commercial provider of space-based radio frequency (RF) data and analytics, has opened a new satellite manufacturing facility in Herndon, Virginia.

According to HawkEye 360, the data processing, software development, and satellite manufacturing facility, which spans 19,000sft in Fairfax County will support the American government and allied government requirements.

The satellite manufacturing facility is expected to enable HawkEye 360 in having end-to-end responsibility for manufacturing its commercial RF-sensing satellites for collecting geospatial intelligence.

HawkEye 360 said that its new advanced technology and development center will accommodate up to 70 employees. It will host constellation operations, software development, data processing, development of payload, and satellite assembly.

For advanced RF technology and manufacturing of small satellites, HawkEye 360 has constructed a customized clean room and electronics lab.

John Serafini — HawkEye 360 CEO said: “Our new Advanced Technology and Development Center provides our growing team of brilliant staff a dedicated facility in which they can thrive, centralizing all our data engineering and satellite manufacturing in-house.
