Gulf Edge and Google Cloud forge partnership to deliver sovereign cloud services in Thailand

Gulf Edge Company Limited and Google Cloud have entered into an agreement to provide next-generation sovereign cloud services in Thailand, tailored to meet the country’s stringent data residency, security, and privacy requirements. Under this agreement, Gulf Edge will operate as a Managed GDC Provider (MGP) for Google Distributed Cloud (GDC), focusing on delivering services in air-gapped configurations, which require no connectivity to Google Cloud regions or the public internet. This approach ensures the highest levels of security and sovereignty, as data operations and software remain entirely within Thailand’s jurisdiction.

The deployment options for GDC air-gapped include on-premises setups or within Gulf group data centers, offering flexibility in terms of hardware configurations to cater to specific organizational needs. This setup supports Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act, ensuring all operations comply with national sovereignty regulations.

The collaboration between Gulf Edge and Google Cloud empowers Thai organizations to harness advanced AI and analytics capabilities provided by Google Cloud’s GDC.
