US food technology company GrubMarket has acquired New York-based produce wholesaler L&J Produce for an undisclosed price, in a move to grow its nationwide food supply chain footprint.
According to GrubMarket, L&J Produce is an important sourcing channel for fruits and vegetables in the New York Metro Area.
With deep relationships with domestic farms across New England, California, and Florida, L&J Produce is said to work with several customers in New York. The company’s customers range from supermarkets to restaurants and e-groceries.
L&J Produce, which was established in 2010, provides tropical fruits, local seasonal fruits, and Asian vegetables among a wide variety of products.

Following the acquisition, the produce wholesaler will continue to be managed by its existing leadership team.
L&J Produce marks the fourth acquisition for GrubMarket in New York.

Recently, GrubMarket acquired Grant J. Hunt Company, a produce wholesaler on the West Coast, which has offices in Washington and Northern California.
