Gravita India Ltd, a Jaipur-based recycling company, said that one of its step down subsidiaries in Mozambique has begun commercial production of aluminum from its new recycling plant.
The new recycling plant in Mozambique has an annual capacity of nearly 4,000 MTPA, adding to the company’s existing lead recycling facility of 4,500 MTPA.
Gravita India said that is also in the process of installing a new plastic recycling unit in the East African country.
The Indian recycling company is expecting an additional revenue of around INR 50 crores per annum from the new aluminum recycling plant in Mozambique.
Gravita India said that it has invested around INR 2 crores for procuring and commissioning the aluminium recycling plant, which has been installed on a leased premises.
The company will source domestic aluminium scrap as feedstock for the new recycling plant, which will serve the requirements of aluminum die casting components manufacturing industries of auto and FMCG sector in South and East Asian markets.
Last month, Gravita India announced a ramp-up of the capacity of its existing lead recycling unit in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh by 10,200 MTPA.
