GPIL commissions 70MWp captive solar power plant in Rajnandgaon

Godawari Power and Ispat Limited (GPIL) said that it has started operations of a 70MWp captive solar power plant in Rajnandgaon, .

The flagship company of stated that the Rajnandgaon solar power plant was synchronized duly with the electricity grid and charged on 6 August 2022 pursuant to the minutes of meetings (MOM) of Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Company Limited ()/Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited ().

Godawari Power and Ispat Limited said that the power produced by the solar power plant in Chhattisgarh will be consumed captively to meet the enhanced power requirement for the company’s integrated steel plant in Chhattisgarh. It replaces the high-cost power that was being bought from state Discom, said Godawari Power and Ispat Limited.

Besides, solar energy generation at Rajnandgaon will underpin its green initiatives and bring down its carbon footprint, stated the Hira Group of Industries company.
