GlobalLogic to acquire Romanian digital engineering company Fortech

GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group company, has agreed to acquire Fortech, a Romania-based software engineering services company, for an undisclosed price.

Fortech provides digital engineering services such as architecture design, devops, software development, data analytics, and quality assurance with a specialization in the cloud, Internet of Things (IoT), and SaaS.

The Romanian software services company also has engineering hubs in Oradea, Brasov, and Iasi.

The clients of Fortech are said to span technology/media/telecom, banking/finance, healthcare, manufacturing, automotive, and professional services verticals.

The acquisition of Fortech is expected to increase GlobalLogic’s footprint in Europe.

It will also help the American digital services company improve Hitachi Group’s expertise in information technology, operating technology, and products as well as expand the latter’s Lumada digital solutions business.

Nitesh Banga — GlobalLogic President and CEO said: “This acquisition will further enhance GlobalLogic’s presence in Europe, and accelerate our access to the rich technical talent in Romania; it will arm Fortech with the resources and strong backing of GlobalLogic and Hitachi.”

Post-closing, Fortech with its existing leadership and staff will operate as a fully-owned subsidiary of GlobalLogic.

Calin Vaduva — Fortech CEO said: “Joining forces with GlobalLogic, backed by Hitachi, takes our reach to a whole new level.”

Subject to customary regulatory approval, the deal is expected to close by the end of Q4 2022.
