Gener8, a portfolio company of Sverica Capital Management, has acquired the RND Group, an Indianapolis-based provider of software development focused on medical devices and life science products.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed by Gener8, which offers turnkey design and manufacturing services. Gener8 is said to specialize in high complexity products, mainly for diagnostics and medical device applications.
Tim DeFrench — Founder and President of RND Group said: “We are excited to join Jerry and the rest of the Gener8 team. From our early interactions it was clear there would be a great fit between our companies, and even more importantly, that bringing our capabilities together under one roof would be a real winner for customers.”
Through the acquisition of the RND Group, the company will gain the full lifecycle capabilities of software development that include cloud-based solutions, LIS/EHR integration, verification and validation, compliance of quality system, and others.
RND Group is said to have created an array of protocols that help speed up the development process by using built-in core functionality.
Although Gener8 already offers turnkey instruments and consumable solutions and an accompanying firmware, the acquisition of RND Group allows it to expand its services off-instrument to the related software.
Jerry Jurkiewicz — Gener8 CEO said: “RND is a world-class medical software development operation with a blue-chip customer base and a unique set of capabilities.
“We have already partnered on several programs, and the value proposition of the combination has strongly resonated with customers.”
