GATE Energy wins key contract for Woodside Trion FPU project with HHI
GATE Energy, a prominent player in the global energy sector, has been awarded a crucial commissioning contract for the Woodside Trion Floating Production Unit (FPU) project by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI). This milestone contract for GATE Energy solidifies its position as a leader in commissioning and start-up services, especially in the offshore oil and gas industry.
The responsibilities of GATE Energy under this contract include pre-commissioning and commissioning planning and execution at HHI’s fabrication yard in Ulsan, South Korea. This project signifies not only a significant achievement for GATE Energy but also marks a substantial milestone for Woodside, as it represents the first oil production facility for Mexico’s deepwater acreage in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Trion deepwater development, located in the Perdido Fold Belt with water depths up to 8,200 ft, is a testament to GATE Energy’s capabilities and its expanding global presence. The FPU, set to be constructed in South Korea, targets first oil by 2028.
