G.G. Tronics bags Rs 600cr KAVACH order from Chittaranjan Locomotive Works
Bengaluru-based G.G. Tronics India Private Limited, a subsidiary of CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited, has announced securing a significant contract for the advanced KAVACH train safety system. The order, awarded by Chittaranjan Locomotive Works in West Bengal, is valued between ₹500 crore and ₹600 crore, with an expected execution period of one year.
The scope of this high-profile contract includes the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of on-board KAVACH systems as per specifications from the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO). Additionally, the project entails annual maintenance services for 11 years, reflecting a comprehensive approach to safety and functionality. The intricate supply tasks will involve cabling, wiring, and integrating the system with locomotive KAVACH infrastructure.
KAVACH, also known as the Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), is pivotal to the Indian Railways’ safety modernisation efforts. G.G. Tronics, recognised as a developmental vendor for this system, has been at the forefront of railway signalling innovations.
