FTC Solar to provide solar trackers for 504MW solar plus storage project in Arizona

FTC Solar, a US-based utility-scale solar tracking technology provider, has secured a contract to provide solar trackers to a 504MW DC solar and energy storage project located in Maricopa County, Arizona.

Under the terms of the contract, FTC Solar will be supplying its Voyager tracker to Moss Solar, which is an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company that has a contract with a Tier 1 US-based developer to build the solar plus storage facility.

The solar and energy storage project will have an energy storage capacity of 260MW AC.

FTC Solar stated: “The project represents a significant capital investment in Arizona beyond PV panels and batteries.”

The solar tracking technology provider will supply its 2P Voyager+ tracker which is designed to optimize energy capture, while at the same time cutting down the man-hours and equipment required for installation.

According to FTC Solar, the installation of the solar plus storage project in Arizona is scheduled to begin in Q1 2022. The facility is expected to be operational by 2023.
