The Freeport LNG export project in Texas owned by Freeport LNG Development has shipped the first commissioning cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) produced from its second LNG train.

The milestone was reported by McDermott International, which has been working alongside Chiyoda International and Zachry Group on the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), in addition to commissioning and initial operations for the first three trains of the four-train US LNG export project.

Earlier this month, McDermott International announced that the Freeport LNG project train 2 had started production of LNG. The oil and gas industry contractor said that the shipping of the first commissioning cargo is an indication that the Freeport LNG export project train 2 has been substantially completed.
