Fortune International acquires seafood supplier New Orleans Fish House

Fortune International, an American processor, distributor and importer of seafood, meats, and gourmet products, has acquired New Orleans Fish House (NOFH) for an undisclosed price.

New Orleans Fish House is a supplier of wholesale seafood and specialty products to chefs and restaurants across New Orleans as well as in the Gulf South.

As part of the deal, New Orleans Fish House’s owners — Bill Borges, Cliff Hall, and Brett Borges will remain with Fortune International, which is the parent operating company of Fortune Fish & Gourmet.

Established in 1990, New Orleans Fish House not only provides seafood but also beef, lamb, and a variety of other specialty and protein-based products.

Currently, it is said to be among the largest buyers of Blue Fin Tuna and Yellowfin from the Gulf of Mexico. It is also counted as one of the largest purchasers of Red Fish in the US.

According to Fortune International, the combination of its operations with that of New Orleans Fish House is expected to organically boost sales in the region via enhanced cross-selling of respective products. Besides, the acquisition will grow logistics efficiencies and route synergies, which will lead to better service for Fortune International’s customers in New Orleans and the customers of New Orleans Fish House in Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida.
