Exide Industries Limited said that its fully-owned subsidiary Exide Energy Solutions Limited (EESL) is procuring a land parcel in Bengaluru for setting up a greenfield multi-gigawatt Li-ion battery cell manufacturing facility.
According to the Indian storage battery manufacturing company, Exide Energy Solutions signed a lease cum sale agreement with Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) for an 80-acre land located at Hitech, Defence & Aerospace Park, Phase-2.
The Li-ion battery cells to be manufactured by Exide Industries are intended to be used in the new-age electric mobility as well as stationary application businesses in India.
