Enagas, Reganosa sign deal to strengthen Spanish energy system

Enagás has agreed to acquire a network of 130km of natural gas pipelines of 80 bar from Reganosa in northwestern Spain for €54 million ($57 million), in a bid to strengthen the supply and decarbonization efforts of Spain and Europe.

Under the agreement, Enagás will acquire the entire transmission network, which ensures the supply and successful operation of the Iberian gas market.

The transmission network, with three measuring stations, three regulation and measurement stations, and thirteen valve positions, links to the LNG terminal of Mugardos and the Tui – Llanera gas pipeline in Guitiriz and Abegondo.

The network brings natural gas directly to the combined cycle power plants of As Pontes (800MW) and Sabón (400MW), to the refinery of A Coruña (120 barrels/day) and the towns of As Pontes and Cerceda.
