Egypt enters the 5G era: Discover how Nokia and Telecom Egypt are making history
In a significant move to overhaul Egypt’s telecommunications landscape, Nokia has announced a strategic partnership with Telecom Egypt. Under the deal, Nokia will utilize its AirScale portfolio to deploy a 5G radio access network (RAN), which includes advanced baseband units and the latest generation of Massive MIMO radios, employing Nokia’s energy-efficient ReefShark System-on-Chip technology. This technology promises substantial improvements in data speed, network performance, and capacity, setting a benchmark for future telecom advancements in the region.
The deployment of 5G technology is poised to dramatically increase network capacity and coverage, particularly in densely populated areas, thus facilitating faster downloads, smoother streaming, and overall improved online experiences.
