Caspian Beverage Holding, a Kazakh beverages producer, has secured a five-year loan of up to $4 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for offering greater range and wider availability of its beverage products.
The loan will help Caspian Beverage enlarge its distribution network and expand its sales to gain an increased market share in Kazakhstan and makes enhancements in operational efficiency within the company and its subsidiaries.
The Kazakh beverages producer will also procure refrigerators, which will be compliant with the requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by using a natural, non-toxic, and ozone-friendly hydrocarbon refrigerant called R290.
EBRD said that its loan will also support Caspian Beverage’s working capital needs, including the acquisition of beer kegs alongside other specialized equipment.
New technology will be introduced by Caspian Beverage in its operations with the support of the Global Environment Facility under the EBRD’s Resource Efficiency Transformation Programme (RESET) via a $48,000 grant. The technology will help bring down annual CO2 emissions by approximately 620 tonnes and energy consumption by 40% compared to existing units.
The EBRD said that so far it has injected €8.63 billion via 273 projects in the economy of Kazakhstan.
