Drivezy strikes partnership to park rental vehicles at OYO properties
Drivezy, a Bangalore based rental scooter, bike and car company, has forged a partnership with OYO Hotels and Homes to station its rental vehicles at the latter’s properties across India.
OYO Hotels and Homes is a chain of hotels, homes, living and workspace in India, China and other South Asian countries.
As part of the partnership, Drivezy will have its range of vehicles available for lease at OYO’s properties consisting of more than 10,000 leased and franchised buildings in 300 plus cities across India. The OYO properties will be the on-site hubs for Drivezy where its bikes and car are stationed.
The hubs can be accessed by either a guest at OYO or a regular Drivezy customer.
Ashwarya Singh – CEO of Drivezy said: “Contemporary players in the on-demand shared mobility space have adopted a free-floating model where customers are free to drop the asset anywhere within city limits. While this model has its advantages, it is extremely difficult to ensure the well-being of the assets being rented and prevent vandalism.
“To counter this, we are establishing a dense network of parking spaces in all operational cities and our association with OYO is a step in that direction. Unlike existing services, customers will have to drop their vehicles at Drivezy locations once their trip ends. We have already commenced the deployment of keyless IoT locks on all our vehicles. These would allow customers to unlock their designated vehicles with a QR code scanner, available on the Drivezy app.”
The rental scooter, bike, and car company is said to have parked 1,200 bikes already at OYO hotels in Bangalore and Hyderabad and has plans to increase the number to 100,000 bikes and cars in the next three years.
Gaurav Ajmera – Chief Operating Officer of OYO Hotels & Homes India & South Asia said: “We are pleased to partner with Drivezy, a brand renowned for their travel offerings. Every traveler today shows an increasing appetite for experiences that make their stay super convenient and hassle-free.
“With this partnership, we look to address the commuting requirements of our guests. Our association with Drivezy will help us add a new dimension to our service offerings, ensuring that our guests have a perfect stay with their own independent hired vehicle without having to worry about booking cabs or drivers.”
With the alliance, OYO and Drivezy intend to make the visit to any city in India for tourists economical and easily accessible. Since the rental vehicle is parked at OYO hotel premises, their guests will be given the first preference to hire it.
Established in 2015, Drivezy provides cars, motorbikes and scooters on rent at 100 locations across 11 Indian cities. Currently, the vehicle sharing company has a fleet of 4000 cars and 14000 bikes.
