Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) said that it has started maintenance dredging of channels and basins at Cochin Port Trust.
The Visakhapatnam-based company is executing the work under a contract worth INR 122.5 crores awarded by Cochin Port Trust.
As per the contract, Dredging Corporation of India will be responsible for dredging a quantity of 24 million M3 for the period from May 2021 to May 2022.
The company said that a couple of its dredgers – DCI DR-XV and DCI DR-VIII have started the operations.

Earlier this month, Dredging Corporation of India had started the maintenance dredging at Paradip Port Trust in Paradip, Odisha under an INR 98-crore contract.
