Dredging Corporation of India bags Rs 156.5cr contract for Cochin Port maintenance

Dredging Corporation of Limited (DCIL) has been awarded a significant annual maintenance dredging contract by the Port Authority. Valued at Rs 156.5 crores for the fiscal year 2024-25, with an option to extend for an additional year, this contract highlights DCIL’s continued leadership in the dredging industry and its pivotal role in supporting India’s maritime infrastructure.

The awarded contract entails comprehensive maintenance dredging of the Cochin Port’s crucial navigational channels, including the outer channel, approach channel, International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT) Basin, LNG Basin Channels (Erankulam Channel & Mattancherry Channel), and other significant areas of the port. This operation is essential to ensure the port remains navigable for vessels of varying sizes, thereby facilitating seamless and efficient maritime trade activities.
