Dimension advances global virtual production with AWS and Arch Platform Technologies

Dimension, a leader in virtual production studios, has announced a significant expansion of its global operations by selecting Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Arch Platform Technologies. This strategic partnership aims to enhance Dimension’s capabilities in visualization, virtual production, and content creation services through efficient cloud-based solutions.

Dimension has chosen AWS as its preferred cloud provider to scale its virtual production workflows globally. Additionally, the company will utilize the Arch platform to streamline the orchestration of its advanced virtual desktop infrastructure, storage, and real-time capabilities. This collaboration enables Dimension to manage demanding creative workflows effortlessly across its global locations, providing a scalable and secure solution for high-performance virtual private cloud facilities.

Last month, Dimension, in cooperation with DNEG 360, launched new divisions that regularly collaborate with major studios like Apple, Sony Pictures, Amazon MGM Studios, and Netflix. This initiative has led to the creation of some of the world’s largest state-of-the-art LED volumes and bespoke studio setups globally. The recent projects such as “Cowgirls on the Moon” demonstrated the capabilities of generative AI-assisted virtual production and VFX rendering in the cloud using AWS Deadline Cloud.

Callum Macmillan, CTO of Dimension and DNEG 360, emphasized the strategic importance of these partnerships: “As our business becomes ever more global, the AWS Cloud and the Arch platform empower our business to rapidly adapt to changing business demands. This is an efficient, secure, sustainable solution that’s a game-changer for our offering.”

Looking ahead, Dimension and DNEG 360 are gearing up to deploy Arch for their forthcoming slate of independent films, including titles like “HUMANOID,” “2040,” and “Campbelltown ‘69.”

This strategic alliance between Dimension, AWS, and Arch not only enhances Dimension’s operational efficiencies but also sets a new standard in the virtual production industry, promising innovative solutions for the complex demands of modern filmmaking.
