Creekstone Farms breaks ground on new distribution center in Arkansas City

Food processing news : Creekstone Farms Premium Beef, a Kansas-based beef processing company, has broken ground on a new $35 million refrigerated distribution center at its Arkansas City facility.

Creekstone Farms said that the new distribution center will be of 41,334ft2 while the main floor footprint and the mezzanine area will be of 35,311ft2 and 6,023ft2, respectively.

The warehouse will have an automated storage and retrieval system which can handle 27,000 boxes in a nine-hour shift with over 37,000 box storage locations.

Integral Strategic Solutions, which is made up of Kuecker Logistics Group, Weitz, and Interstate and Schemmer Associates, will be handling the construction of the new Creekstone Farms distribution center in Arkansas City.

Creekstone Farms expects the new distribution center to enter into full operations by fall 2019.

Creekstone Farms supplies its beef and pork products to several grocers and restaurants in the US. Its products include Black Angus Beef, Duroc Pork, and other value-added products.

Owned by the Marubeni Group, Creekstone Farms also exports its meat products to Europe, Asia and Latin America.
