Route Mobile said that it is bolstering its footprint in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) by foraying into Saudi Arabia (KSA) after securing a license from the country’s Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC).
The Indian Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) provider will open a domestic sales office in Riyadh, which will operate as Route Mobile Arabia Telecom Limited.
Route Mobile also operates in the UAE and Kuwait in the GCC region.
According to the CPaaS provider, the CITC license is compulsory for any company or a technology provider to undertake a local SMS business. The license is required for hosting local platforms in Saudi Arabia to make sure that all the data is locally stored and meets the data security guidelines of the region.
Rajdipkumar Gupta — Route Mobile Managing Director and Group CEO said: “We are extremely grateful to the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia for awarding us the license to operate in the KSA. We expect around 1.5 billion SMS volume to pass through our local platform in the KSA.
“Considering the scale and size of the CPaaS market, we intend to hire more employees which will include the young talented Saudi nationals who will enable us to add tremendous value to our new Riyadh operations.”
Route Mobile expects to offer its whole CPaaS product portfolio in Saudi Arabia. This includes A2P SMS to enterprise clients as well as to the small and medium businesses market.
Sharad Thukral — Route Mobile EVP and Business Head – MEA said: “Using our best-in-class technology and domain expertise, we will enhance the customer experience through omnichannel communication like SMS, email, WhatsApp, and in-app notifications. This will enable enterprises and brands in the GGC region to deepen their customer engagement in a seamless manner, offer a rich conversational experience and help them build a loyal customer base.”
