Continental acquires vending machine supplier Northern Vending Company

Michigan-based food management company Continental has acquired vending machine supplier Northern Vending Company for an undisclosed price.

Northern Vending Company, which was established in 1999, is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Following its acquisition, its complete staff will join the Continental team.

Northern Vending Company will expand the client base of Continental with a roster of loyal and long term customers.

Steve LaPorte – president of Continental refreshment services group said: “We have a substantial opportunity to enhance service for these clients with innovative technologies, and fresh offerings, which will in turn grow our other service lines.

“The upside of this deal has made an immediate impact by boosting the density of our business in the western part of our market.”

For Continental, the transaction marks its sixth strategic acquisition in the last two years.

Continental, which is a portfolio company of Boston-based private equity firm New Heritage Capital, offers a variety of refreshment, custom dining and event services for 1,000 plus clients.
