Wind industry news : Clearway Energy has broken ground on the 419MW Mesquite Star wind farm in after closing the financing for the project.

The Mesquite Star wind farm, which will feature 118 wind turbines from Siemens Gamesa , is expected to begin operations in early 2020. Clearway Energy gave a notice to proceed to , which holds the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for the new wind farm in Texas.

Developed through a partnership between Clearway Energy and the project’s original developer Hill Country Wind Power, the Mesquite Star wind farm will sell the power generated by it to Ecolab, Brown University, Cisco Systems and others.
