Centrica offshore UK Ltd (COUK) has secured gas storage licence from the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) for the Rough site in the Southern North Sea.
The award of the gas storage licence, located off the East Coast of England, enables Centrica offshore UK to move ahead with pursuing further regulatory approvals that are needed before starting gas storage operations. Further approvals are also yet to be received from the NSTA.
Centrica offshore UK filed the application for the gas storage license in early June 2022. After no other applications for the area were filed by the deadline of 22 June, the NSTA after finishing its review, has awarded the licence to Centrica offshore UK.
