Central Valley Meat to acquire rival meat processor Harris Farms Beef
Food acquisition news : Central Valley Meat has agreed to acquire rival California-based meat processing company Harris Ranch Beef and its wholly owned subsidiaries for an undisclosed price.
Headquartered in Hanford, Central Valley Meat is a family-owned meat processor that was established in 1993. The meat processing company is engaged in the supply of high-quality beef to domestic and international markets.
Located in the Central Valley, Harris Ranch Beef, for more than 50 years, is said to have been producing the highest quality beef in the world.
Commenting on Central Valley Meat acquisition of Harris Ranch Beef, Brian Coelho – President and CEO of Central Valley Meat, said: “We have known and respected John Harris and Harris Ranch Beef for decades, and I am pleased to have this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to continue the business’ family-owned legacy and pursue its tremendous potential for growth here in the Central Valley.
“While Central Valley Meat Company and Harris Ranch Beef will continue to operate independently, I expect both businesses and their respective customers to benefit from the companies’ shared knowledge, extensive resources and expanded product offering.”
As per the terms of the agreement, Ranch Beef and Central Valley Meat will operate as standalone entities, while retaining their respective beef brands.
