Bottled spring water brand Icelandic Glacial will expand its distribution in the Icelandic market through a partnership with Coca-Cola European Partners Iceland.
As per the agreement between the two companies, Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) will distribute and sell Icelandic Glacial’s spring water products in Iceland alongside its current range of beverages.
Commenting on the distribution partnership with the Icelandic Coca-Cola bottler, Jon Olafsson – Chairman and Co-Founder of Chairman and Co-Founder, said: “We’re very excited to be working with CCEP.
“We’ve made significant efforts to grow the Icelandic Glacial brand globally and are pleased to now be able to expand our reach at our home base.”
According to Icelandic Glacial, its naturally alkaline spring water is collected from the Olfus Spring in Iceland where it is also bottled locally.
The bottled spring water brand claims that the water found in the Olfus Spring is extremely pure and is filtered naturally by the lava rock through which it flows.
Further, Icelandic Glacial says that the water is as it is bottled, without adding anything or removing anything from it.
Carlos Cruz – Country Director of Coca-Cola European Partners in Iceland, commenting on the distribution deal with Icelandic Glacial bottled spring water brand, said: “With the growing number of tourists in Iceland, we see a huge opportunity to add premium spring water to our portfolio to better serve our customers and be better equipped to offer solutions to consumers, especially in HORECA and tourist outlets.
“Also, we are proud to list a carbon neutral brand in our portfolio which supports our ‘This is Forward’ sustainability strategy extremely well”.
Currently, Icelandic Glacial is available in 24 countries and is claimed to be the first certified carbon neutral bottled water brand in the world.
