California American Water has agreed to acquire the potable water distribution system of Bass Lake Water, which caters to nearly 1,000 customer connections in the Bass Lake community.
Bass Lake is situated nine miles from Oakhurst, California, where California American Water had signed an agreement to acquire the Hillview Water Company, which serves close to 1,500 customer connections in the Madera County communities of Oakhurst, Raymond, and Coarsegold.
Stephen Welch – President of Bass Lake Water said: “When we agreed to sell we wanted to ensure the operations were handed over to an organization that could provide the same great level of service our customers have come to expect.
“We are confident that company is California American Water.”
The acquisition of Bass Lake Water will add 1,000 additional customers for California American Water in Madera County.
Rich Svindland – California American Water President said: “We are proud to be Bass Lake’s new water provider.
“We will bring a robust conservation program, a 24-hour call center and an assistance program for low-income customers as well as many other benefits.”
California American Water, which is a subsidiary of American Water, offers water and/or wastewater services to over 675,000 people in California.
