CACI International wraps up $275m acquisition of SA Photonics

CACI International has wrapped up its previously announced $275 million acquisition of SA Photonics, a California-based provider of multi-domain photonics technologies for free-space optical (FSO) communications.

The deal was announced in March 2021 by CACI International, which is a Virginia-based IT services company.

The photonic solutions group of CACI International is said to have expertise in photonic design services, FSO communications, and light detection and ranging (LiDAR) sensing solutions.

CACI International said that the addition of SA Photonics will enable it to address a larger market ranging from high-end manned flight programs to the LEO market that are being sought by the Space Development Agency (SDA) and the US Space Force.

The company stated that it will add two major facilities in Florida and California to its existing presence in New Jersey.
