Minbos Resources has confirmed the commencement of the Cabinda Phosphate Fertilizer Plant construction in Angola with the signing of a $4.25 million engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) contract.

The contract was secured with Brazil’s EPC Engenharia and its Angolan branch, EPX Angola, on 14 June 2023, formalizing the engagement that started last year with a Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) agreement.

EPC Engenharia has already begun operations on the ground in Cabinda, having completed the project site clearance and perimeter fencing last week. The firm, which had previously deployed staff to assess the local infrastructure and liaise with local engineering companies, is set to kickstart the civil and earthworks immediately.

Additionally, relocating from Fútila to Subantando has halved the transport distance from the Cácata Phosphate mine site, amplifying operational efficiency. Concurrently, Minbos Resources continues to invest in the local community, recently completing the installation of a water supply at the Cácata Phosphate mine site.
