BPC to help Cambodia’s Oriental Bank to offer digital banking experiences

Oriental Bank, a new Cambodian bank, has selected payment technology provider BPC for powering its digital banking experiences.

According to BPC, the new commercial bank in Cambodia is looking to capture a considerable market share of tech-savvy consumers and those who prefer brick-and-mortar banking experiences.

The strategy will see Oriental Bank adapting a 60% digital and 40% conventional banking approach.

Datuk Phan Ying Tong — the Founder and MD of Oriental Bank said: “Oriental Bank is blending technology and the human touch to ensure that we can reach out to customers no matter what touchpoint they use.

“We selected BPC for their extensive understanding of the local market and their competitive speed in delivering a new bank from the ground up. With BPC, we are relying on a strong local partner that will embrace growth and help us scale.”

BPC said that its BPC SmartVista’s platform will be deployed to power the digital banking experience from onboarding of Know Your Customer (KYC), deposit account opening, as well as funds transfers.

The platform will also be utilized for powering smooth and secure end-to-end payment experiences, including QR codes, digital loan applications, card issuing, and other self-service banking channels like ATM Driving Services.
