Bharti Airtel enhances network connectivity in rural Ujjain, aims to bridge digital divide
Bharti Airtel, a leading telecommunications service provider in India, has announced a significant expansion of its network in the Ujjain district, emphasizing its commitment to enhancing digital connectivity in rural areas. This initiative, part of a broader rural enhancement project, has led to the deployment of additional sites across 1087 villages, promising to bring high-speed connectivity to approximately 13.5 lakh rural inhabitants.
The network enhancement project in Ujjain district encompasses several tehsils, including Mahidpur, Khacharod, Ghatiya, Ujjain, Badnagar, Tarana, and Nagda, ensuring that residents in these areas have seamless access to reliable mobile networks for work, study, and entertainment purposes. This expansion is not just limited to Ujjain but is part of a larger initiative to improve coverage in rural villages across Madhya Pradesh, including Indore, Ratlam, Neemuch, Dhar, Shajapur, Agar, Jhabua, Dewas, and Bhopal.
In this year alone, Bharti Airtel has significantly increased its investment in the state, doubling down on its commitment to ensure enhanced network connectivity for a seamless experience on 4G, 5G, Broadband, and Fiber. This rural enhancement project aligns with Airtel’s national strategy to augment network connectivity across 60,000 villages in the country by 2024, with Madhya Pradesh being a key focus market. Already, the company has enhanced its network coverage across 5000 villages, covering the entire state.
In addition to expanding network coverage, Bharti Airtel has also increased its fiber presence in the state by deploying additional capacities. This strategic move is aimed at supporting the growing demand for high-speed data services in the region, ensuring that urban, semi-urban, and rural areas, including highways, tourist destinations, and trade centers, fall under Airtel’s network umbrella.
