Bharat Electronics strikes Rs 847.7cr deal with Larsen & Toubro for advanced naval communication and EW systems
In a significant development for India’s defense sector, Navaratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking (DPSU) Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has entered into a substantial contract with Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T). The contract, valued at Rs. 847.70 Crore plus taxes, marks a pivotal moment for both corporations and the broader Indian defense industry. Under this agreement, BEL will supply 14 state-of-the-art Communication and Electronic Warfare (EW) sensors and systems. These advanced systems are to be domestically manufactured by BEL and will be installed on three Cadet Training Ships for the Indian Navy.

These orders include the supply of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) for T-70 & T-90 Tanks, Communication Systems for the Indian Navy, and other Spares and Services. Cumulatively, these orders have propelled BEL’s total order book to Rs.32,716.33 Crore in the current financial year, underscoring the company’s continuous growth and success in the defense sector.
