BBIX partners with Naganoken Kyodo Densan to launch OCX service in Nagano

BBIX, Inc., a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp., specializing in Internet Exchange (IX) services, has announced a strategic business partnership with Naganoken Kyodo Densan Co., Ltd. to enhance cloud-based networking in Nagano, Japan. This collaboration marks the establishment of a new Open Connectivity eXchange (OCX) connection point within Naganoken Kyodo Densan’s data center in Nagano City, launched on July 1, 2024.

The OCX service, co-developed by BBIX and its network solutions subsidiary BBSakura Networks, Inc., is designed to provide on-demand, secure, and low-latency connectivity solutions. These services cater to a wide range of cloud services and data centers, aiming to meet the increasing demands of customers for scalable network infrastructure.

Naganoken Kyodo Densan serves as a crucial information hub for the JA (Japan Agricultural Co-operative) NAGANO Group, which focuses on fostering community prosperity through agricultural promotion. Additionally, Naganoken Kyodo Densan offers JANIS, an Internet service that benefits residents throughout the region. This service is part of a broader commitment to enhance local connectivity, which includes the ongoing construction of a new data center slated for completion in March 2024 and operational by January 2025.
