A chilling episode unfolded late Thursday night in Indore’s Krishna Bagh Colony. What started as a trivial argument over barking pet dogs spiraled into a nightmarish shooting spree, leaving the neighborhood in shock and terror.
Rajpal Singh Rajawat, a seemingly innocuous bank security guard from a local branch of Bank of Baroda, turned the quiet streets of Indore into a horrifying crime scene. Triggered by a barking duel between his and his neighbor’s dog, an incensed Rajawat unleashed terror by firing his licensed weapon, claiming the lives of two and wounding six others, including an expecting mother.
According to the details shared by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Amrendra Singh, Rajawat’s heated altercation began during his evening walk with his pet. But the atmosphere took a dire turn when Rajawat, in a fit of rage, fetched his gun and indiscriminately sprayed bullets on the unsuspecting residents below from his terrace.
The victims were identified as Rahul Verma, 28, and Vimal Amcha, 35. Amidst this horror, Jyoti Verma, Rahul’s pregnant wife, sustained injuries but is now stable, as reported by the authorities.
Local police have swiftly acted on the gruesome incident, arresting Rajawat, his son Sudhir, and nephew Shubham. Authorities are now meticulously analyzing CCTV footage from the vicinity and have secured the deadly firearm, along with other crucial evidence.
The Krishna Bagh Colony, still reeling from the shock, shared their account of the events leading up to the disaster. Pallavi Borse, a local resident, narrated the trivial dogfight and subsequent altercation that cruelly escalated. She revealed how a simple act of shooing away a barking dog with a stick became the unlikely precursor to such a tragic incident.
