Axis Bank gets RBI nod to re-appoint Amitabh Chaudhry as MD and CEO

Axis Bank said that its decision to re-appoint Amitabh Chaudhry as its managing director (MD) and CEO has been approved by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Following the RBI approval, Amitabh Chaudhry will continue in the roles from 1 January 2022 till 31 December 2024 as per a decision taken by the bank’s board of directors in late April.

Axis Bank had said that Amitabh Chaudhry is not associated with any of its other directors or key managerial personnel. He had joined the Indian private banking group in January 2019 and previously was with HDFC Life as the organization’s MD and CEO.
