Aster RV Hospital Bangalore sets up modular emergency unit for Covid patients

Aster RV Hospital Bangalore and Aster Volunteers, the global CSR unit of Aster DM Healthcare, has launched a modular emergency unit in Bengaluru for helping critically ill Covid-19 patients with immediate care and attention.

The free of cost Covid emergency unit has been launched with the help of Shri Bagaria Education Trust and also Kemwell Biopharma, said the hospital.

The unit has five beds that will be offered to the patients on a first-come-first-serve basis at Aster RV Hospital in JP Nagar.

The modular and mobile emergency unit can be utilized as a makeshift waiting high dependency beds (HDU) for Covid-19 patients who desperately need oxygen and other critical services.

Aster RV Hospital Bangalore said that the module has all the features of a top end ICU facility. Furthermore, it is completely integrated and self-contained and has to be just plugged for operation.

Dr. Prashanth N – Chief Operating Officer of Aster RV Hospital said: “Accessibility to healthcare services is a core focus area for our group and through such initiatives we are aiming to bridge the gap between the healthcare services and the people.

“COVID-19 has encouraged Indians to be more innovative in terms of medical equipments and facilities and these emergency units are perfect examples of that. These units are not only convenient, but will also help in controlling the contagious disease.”
