Arthur J. Gallagher acquires wholesale insurance broker AWIS Group

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., an Illinois-based insurance brokerage, risk management and consulting services firm, has acquired AWIS Group, a wholesale insurance broker based in San Diego, for an undisclosed price.

Established in 2005, AWIS Group provides a variety of commercial coverages and also high-net-worth personal lines, mainly via insurance agencies based in California.

The team of the wholesale insurance broker will continue to operate from their existing location, working under Adam Mazan, who is the head of the Pacific West Region for Risk Placement Services (RPS), which is the US wholesale brokerage operation of Arthur J. Gallagher.
