Ansonia Mayor David Cassetti framed the sale of the Ansonia wastewater system as a pivotal step in the city’s broader revitalization efforts. He highlighted that the transaction will allow Ansonia to prioritize core areas like public safety, education, and economic development while ensuring stable sewer and tax rates for years to come.

The Ansonia wastewater system, which serves 5,800 customer connections, expands Aquarion Water Company’s footprint in Connecticut. The company already provides water services to neighboring communities such as Derby, Seymour, and Shelton. This acquisition is part of a larger trend for Aquarion, which has integrated 91 water and wastewater system acquisitions since 2011. Notable transactions include municipal systems in Derby and towns such as New Hartford.
