Air Products (NYSE:APD), a leader in gas separation and purification technologies, has initiated a $70 million expansion of its Missouri Manufacturing and Logistics Center in Maryland Heights, near St. Louis, Missouri. This significant investment, the largest in the history of Air Products Membrane Solutions, aims to meet the increasing demand for its products in sectors like biogas, hydrogen recovery, and aerospace nitrogen applications.
The groundbreaking ceremony was marked by the presence of over 100 guests, including local and state officials such as Taylor Mazdra, Regional Manager of the Missouri Department of Economic Development, and Mike Moeller, Mayor of Maryland Heights. The new manufacturing facility, set to begin production by the end of 2025, will not only enhance the company’s manufacturing capabilities but also add 30 new full-time positions to the existing workforce of about 170 employees. This expansion follows a previous $10 million investment made in 2023, which also aimed at increasing the production capacity at the current facility.
Air Products Membrane Solutions specializes in the development of hollow fiber membrane separators, which are critical for onsite gas generation in various industries. These PRISM® Membrane Separators, along with their Marine Systems and Engineered-to-Order Systems, serve a wide range of applications from aerospace to renewable diesel production, emphasizing the company’s pivotal role in promoting sustainable energy sources.
The strategic expansion by Air Products Membrane Solutions is a clear indicator of the company’s proactive approach in scaling up its production capabilities to meet global market demands effectively.
