French industrial gases company Air Liquide has agreed to sell its Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) operations to Massy Gas Products Holding Ltd. (MGPHL) for an undisclosed price.
Owing to the sale, nearly 30 employees of the Air Liquide business in the country will join Massy Gas Products.
According to Air Liquide, the deal is part of its strategy to evaluate its asset portfolio regularly and concentrate on selected quick developing activities and areas.
The industrial gases company claimed that it is well-placed to expand its footprint further in Latin America where it plans to pursue emerging opportunities with the clean energy transition, which includes hydrogen energy by utilizing the rich natural resources of the region.
Air Liquide said that the deal with Massy Gas Products is contingent on customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals of the Trinidad & Tobago Fair Trading Commission.
