ADNOC and AIQ expand AR360 AI solution to over 30 reservoirs for optimized energy management

ADNOC, in collaboration with AIQ, has announced the expansion of its AI-driven AR360 solution to over 30 reservoirs within its upstream operations, after successful initial testing earlier this year. The solution, deployed in early 2024 at Bab and Umm Shaif fields, showcases ADNOC’s commitment to integrating artificial intelligence across its value chain to improve safety, optimize efficiency, and reduce emissions.

Developed by AIQ in partnership with SLB as part of the broader ENERGYai initiative, the AR360 platform leverages cutting-edge AI and machine learning technologies to enhance reservoir management and field development planning. According to Abdulmunim Saif Al Kindy, ADNOC Upstream Executive Director, the extended deployment of AR360 demonstrates ADNOC’s strategic focus on technology and innovation. He emphasized that integrating AI across the company’s operations ensures the extraction of maximum value from natural resources while supporting ADNOC’s sustainable growth targets.

AR360 offers significant advantages by reducing planning time and increasing well longevity and recovery rates. The solution ensures optimal balancing between drilling new wells, improving existing ones, and managing injection and production volumes effectively. By consolidating various software platforms and data sets into a single AI-powered system, AR360 enables more efficient, proactive decision-making—essential for optimizing field development.

Magzhan Kenesbai, Acting Managing Director of AIQ, highlighted that ADNOC’s extended deployment of AR360 is a strong validation of their technology’s value. He stated that AIQ aims to boost operational efficiencies across the entire energy value chain, particularly in upstream operations, to generate greater value for the industry.
