Adani Total Gas partners with INOX India to enhance LNG ecosystem in India

In a significant move to strengthen India’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure, Adani Total Gas Ltd (ATGL), a leading city gas distribution company, and INOX India Ltd (INOXCVA), a global frontrunner in cryogenic liquid storage, distribution, and re-gas solutions based in Gujarat, have announced a mutual support agreement. This partnership accords both companies “preferred partner” status, a strategic step aimed at identifying and exploring collaborative opportunities to enhance the country’s LNG ecosystem.

The deal, poised at the top of industry developments, ensures ATGL certain project-level advantages, including preferential treatment and access to advanced scheduling. This collaboration is set to explore possibilities in establishing LNG and L-CNG stations, LNG satellite stations, and transitioning heavy vehicles to LNG as a transport fuel, among others. The agreement underscores the commitment of both parties to leverage their expertise in developing small scale LNG plants, fostering fuel efficiency, and setting best practices towards health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.

Suresh P Manglani, Executive Director & CEO of ATGL, emphasized the environmental urgency and the role of this partnership in mitigating air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. “This partnership with INOXCVA shall help ATGL in furthering phased transition of long haul heavy vehicles, buses currently using HSD/diesel to LNG helping over 30% reduction in CO2 and GHG emissions,” Manglani stated. The initiative is also expected to fast-track the establishment of LNG stations across the nation, encouraging fleet operators to adopt LNG as a transportation fuel.

Echoing the sentiment, Siddharth Jain, Promoter and Non-Executive Director of INOXCVA, highlighted the importance of sustainable transition in the face of economic growth. “Our combined synergies, backed by expertise and scale of both the Parties will truly benefit the stakeholders in the economy in reducing emissions, and make significant contributions towards the green transition,” Jain remarked.
